It may be that humanity's only hope to survive climate change is to turn to nature.

How it happens.

Here are the counter-players

1. Threats - rain, floods, landslides, drought, desertification - storms - all purely physical forces of nature

2. Defenses - diversity - especially forest diversity.

3. Why - because the forest is a biodiversity refuge for humanity - trees are its diversity-collecting umbrella-protecting pillar - under which there are millions of biodiversity interconnections from trees to branches to shoots to flowers and even snow to mycelium to insects and all the animals and birds of the forest - it is the forest's enormous life-sustaining diversity buzz.

5. How diversity works against the forces of nature - a functioning diverse forest tames every single natural force that threatens humanity - rain, floods, storms, drought, etc. - because the diversity of the forest is like a net of many ropes under a tightrope walker - which is flexible so that if the tightrope walker falls, the net is flexible and he survives.

In the same way, the flexible network of forest diversity - the bending of branches, the ability to bind water, etc. - absorbs the forces of nature, taming them. And this is a fact. Undeniably.

6. What to do - a global ban on clear-cutting and timber plantations - massive afforestation, especially in areas where they no longer exist, such as the British Isles and Mongolia.

7. In this way, we ask nature for help with diversity.

And nature helps.
