Immigrant children should have schools or classes in their own language and subject teaching - in Finnish-language schools. And Finnish language lessons alongside that.


And also proceed in such a way that in subjects where the concepts are already difficult in themselves, the child should not be burdened with additional language requirements.


But in subjects such as physical education, music, art, home economics, etc., the teaching can be in Finnish.


This is so that conceptual learning is not undermined by lack of language skills. If that happens, the school loses its meaning of conceptual teaching.
