Is this the worst harm of the internet to the development of children and young people - the addictive authoritarianism of digitality - which takes away their ability to face and live the world in an analog way - which the world and life essentially are and will remain.
The authoritarianism of digitality and its effect on the functioning of the mind and ultimately the brain can be compared to the one-way authoritarian education of military conscription.
Where the army - quite understandably and acceptably only in relation to the army - decides "on/off digitally" what is included in the education - and where throughout the months of daily training the person is the subject of that on/off authoritarianism that guides the mind and thinking and daily activities. ( Which is a necessary operating model of the army - but only the army - for the centralized operation of large military forces to succeed. )
The subject of this training learns in the army on/off authoritarianism, including ways of thinking and ways of acting.
But it does not transfer to a person's normal analog life, but is learned as a military goal in the mind if they are forced into war.
The age limit for conscript training is set at 18 years - because the development of a person's personality and mental capacity is established at that age so that the on/off authoritarianism of conscript training cannot upset it and his normal analog life as a normal healthy person.

That is what happens badly to children and young people when their developing psyche and developing brain are manipulated with digital one-way control.
Why.
Because when in analog life the analog brain perceives very sensitive subtle nuances in all sensory areas - then digitality is degenerate for those abilities - and what is harmful in addition to the damage to sensory analogity - is the effect of internet authoritarian digitality on conceptual thinking - that when someone decides behind the internet what is on or off - then that someone decides which concept is on or off. And when you know that the internet, under the control of today's internet giants, is largely a cradle of uncivilization and its permissiveness and teaching.
It is so clear that children and young people who develop in today's Internet schooling will become idiots with their analog sensory and conceptual abilities damaged by digitality - with reduced analog sensory and conceptual thinking abilities. And stupidity is taking over the world.
Because of all this, it is not enough to protect children and young people from the harms of digitality - but also that advertising and marketing are put under strict control, preventing their harmfulness to the development of children and young people without compromising. Even if it means excluding Meta and Google from the EU if nothing else helps.
