There is therefore no better philosophy than a reasonable effort towards meaning throughout life.

The philosophy of humanity and economics must change - from a philosophy of making life easier and more comfortable - to a philosophy of effort that produces meaning for the individual.

The philosophy of making life easier and more comfortable becomes expensive in two ways

1. People get fat, their physique deteriorates and health problems increase, and with it society's health care costs.

2. The desire for comfort and focusing on making life easier makes people's mental capacity lazy, and through focusing on comfort, a decrease in mental capacity and a decrease and narrowing of the level of intangible values occur - and the pursuit of an easy life and comfort simply diminishes other goals.

Instead, the philosophy of meaningful effort keeps a person both physically and mentally healthier through goal-oriented effort - and the savings in health care costs for society are massive - and the level and scope of people's intangible values increase - and they never stop developing spiritually in their lives.

When the focus of life is not on the pursuit of comfort and making life easier - but on striving for goals that are meaningful to themselves - with goal-oriented pursuits as the basis - and sufficient daily exercise that stimulates the body and maintains health. Then the world will be both better and more productive.

But - there are two dynamics in the world economy that are detrimental to this development opportunity.

1. The core ideology of technology is to make life easier and to feed people's desire for comfort - and that is destructive, raising people not only physically and mentally sluggish and lazy, but also selfish.

2. The world economy is based on the concentration of wealth in the hands of fewer and fewer people - and this has a twofold destructive effect on people's healthy striving for life.

A. When people are enslaved in their work more and more tightly to produce faster and more money for fewer and fewer people - it exhausts them out of healthy meaningfulness and

B. They end up exhausted, understandably only striving for comfort and ease of life. They eat too much, become too lazy, gain too much weight, get sick many times over.

So there is no better philosophy than a reasonable striving for meaningfulness throughout life.
